Environmentally Responsible Printing - Direct Imaging Technology, Vegetable Based Inks, Recycling & Paper

Environmentally Responsible Printing Practices:

Direct Imaging Technology

Conventional pre press systems use large
amounts of chemicals and water
to produce
printing plates.

Companies who have installed only the latest
direct imaging technology use no water and
chemicals
to make plates.

Vegetable Based Inks

Inks were traditionally made from vegetable oils;
they were changed to mineral based inks to speed
up printing and drying times.

Now, ink companies produce vegetable based inks
that perform as well as solvent based inks, and
they are a renewable resource.

Recycling

PAPER - All trimmings and excess paper are collected
by a recycling company
RAGS - All rags used for cleaning machinery are
cleaned and recycled
PRINTING PLATES - Printing plates are made of
aluminium and are also recycled.

Paper

Papers used are chrome and acid free and
supplied by paper mills using Responsible
Forrestry Practices
.

Ranges of 100% recycled papers are available
on request from most printers.
